Tiger Jam (Old-Time Music), September 23

Calling all Tigers! (MU students, faculty, employees, alum, retirees…future tigers)

John White, Master Fiddler

Bring your instrument or just stop by to listen to some old-time music—Thursday, September 23, 2010, 4:00–7:00 pm—at the amphitheatre at Reynolds Journalism Institute on MU’s Historic Quadrangle.

The “Tiger Jam” is being held in conjunction with the Museum and Gallery Crawl on MU campus, which is free and open to the public.

Jam Leaders

4 pm—Curreykorn, a mid-Missouri family band

5 pm—The Sinking Creekers, locals who jam and sing regularly

6 pm—John T. White, Hallsville master fiddler, and friends

John White has invited dancers to join in during his set. Jim Thaxter will be available to call some figures. Other callers are welcome to bring their dance cards and call a square or contra or two. We can show the students what traditional dancing is all about.

Dancing—It’s not just for Friday nights!
