Coming up this Friday, February 1st, is our next MMTD dance! Great music by Johnny Jump Up (Pippa Letsky on fiddle, Joel Zemmer on banjo and Heinrich Leonhard on guitar), with great calling by Paula McFarling. It’ll be a fun evening!
Don’t forget! If you buy your season pass at Friday’s dance, you will get one dance free! Passes are good for all of our regular contra dances from February through June. For adults it’s $55.00 – 9 dances for the price of 8 (a savings of $8.00) if you purchase by February 1st. For students and youth the pass is $30.00, a savings of $6.00. Purchasing a pass lets you enjoy the benefit of pre-paying for the dances (no worries about having cash on hand), you get one free dance, AND you help support Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers!
The dance will be at the usual time and place: 7 pm lessons, dance 7:30 to 10:30 pm at the First Christian Church, corner of 10th and Walnut in downtown Columbia, north entrance under the driveway canopy. The dances start easy and become somewhat more difficult (but not impossible) as the evening progresses, so if you’re a beginner, come early. All dances are taught and no partner is necessary. Please wear clean soft-soled shoes to protect our gorgeous wooden floor. And most importantly, have fun! Children 15 and under: free (as always); ages16-25 and students of any age with ID: $4; 26 and older: $7, a bargain! For more info go to: http://mmtdcolumbia.org/
