English Country Dance – Friday, February 13th

Come join us at our English Country Dance this Friday!   The wonderful quartet 32 Bartenders will provide elegant music for us and veteran caller Jim Thaxter will do his usual magic. The 32 Bartenders are Tom Verdot on fiddle, Thom Howard on guitar, Rebecca Logan on flute and pennywhistle, and Marcie McGuire on keyboard.

The dance starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Rock Quarry House in the City of Columbia Rock Quarry Park. Directions to the park and a link to a map are below. Admission is $8 for the public, $5 for students and ages 16-25, with free admittance for children 15 and under.  A beginner’s lesson starts at 7:00 p.m.

Rock Quarry Park is located at 2002 Grindstone Parkway and is 1.4 miles east of the intersection of Providence Road and Nifong Blvd. It’s on the south side of Grindstone Parkway and there’s a long driveway up a hill. There will be an MMTD Dance sign at the entrance, so be watching for it. There is plenty of parking.

The English Country dance is sponsored in part by the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs  and by the Country Dance and Song Society (cdss.org).
