We have an opportunity to see one of our favorite dance bands in a concert setting this Saturday, July 11. The concert by River Ridge String Band will be hosted by the Boone County Historical Society at their museum in Nifong Park near the intersection of Grindstone Parkway and Highway 63. The museum is celebrating its 25th anniversary and the event runs from 1:00-6:00. The band will be playing outside in the gazebo. There is a grassy area next to the gazebo where there might be the possibility of some dancing, weather permitting. River Ridge is scheduled for about 3:45-5:00. The museum is expecting a pretty large crowd for this, so parking in their lot may be limited. Consider car-pooling and parking in the Nifong Park lot off Nifong Road.
Boone County’s own Jim Thaxter will provide his excellent calling.
