English Country Dance – Friday, December 9

32 Bartenders 1

The 32 Bartenders

For a fun evening of music and dancing, please join us for our monthly English Country Dance, this Friday, December 9. We’ll be dancing to the lively tunes of the 32 Bartenders, with Tom Verdot on fiddle, Thom Howard on guitar and mandolin, Rebecca Logan on flute and Marcie McGuire on keyboards. Bridget Whitehead and Kyle Hardman will be our callers for the evening, guiding us through the dances.

English Country Dances are held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1600 Rollins Road. Click here for a map.

The dance starts at 7:30 p.m. and there will be an introductory lesson at 7:00. Admission is $8 for the public, $5 for students and ages 16-25, with free admittance for children 15 and under.

MMTD’s dances are fun, community-oriented events that do not require prior dance experience. Individuals of all ages are welcome, as well as couples and groups. No partner needed. Every dance is taught and called throughout the evening to live music. Dancers should wear lightweight, comfortable clothing and soft-soled or leather-soled shoes to preserve the floor—no spike heels or cowboy boots. (Please carry-in appropriate dance shoes as needed.)

Many thanks to the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs for their support of our English Country Dance series.
